David Selfe

David W Selfe is currently studying for his MSc in English Language & Linguistics at Glasgow University (having previously completed his English Literature MA but deciding he needed the extra credibility). Currently he is completing his dissertation, which involves constructing a corpus of Romantic Scottish fantasy texts in order to investigate how corpora can be used to measure the literary impact of linguistic change.

He loves long walks (provided they culminate in gin and ice-cream), Romanticist literature (Blake, Burns, Byron, Burke and Barbauld), Victorian poetry (Porphyria’s Lover – read it), cartoons (Adventure Time and Stephen Universe) and video games, his favourites being Dragon Age (2 for story, 3 for characters), The Last of Us, and Ori and the Blind Forest (which ruined him).

He commences his PhD in September, and can be found right now on Twitter.
